This is not a church, but a regional office for the 51 American Baptist churches in North and South Dakota.
The coalition was formed to address underage alcohol, tobacco, and other substances. The coalition funds and supports school based prevention efforts in various school districts in the rural Sioux Empire. Thanks to these efforts, schools have access to classroom education for K-12, substance use evaluations and threat assessments for students, small group sessions for at-risk youth, school-wide awareness campaigns, coordination of prevention programs like Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU), access to a prevention counselor, as well as information and trends for staff and community on substance use trends and other prevention topics. The Carroll Institute Rural Sioux Empire Coalition for Youth is now the Sioux Empire Coalition after joining forces with Health Connect and broadening their scope of interest.
