When a natural or economic disaster occurs, LSS is available to assist individuals, families, congregations and communities through their difficult times and work toward long-term recovery. Examples of situations where LSS has been involved include severe storm damage, tornados, flooding, forest fires and drought. LSS staff throughout the state with training and experience in Critical Incident Stress Management can mobilize quickly to offer counseling and case management when disaster strikes.
