The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department provides recreational/leisure services to the Aberdeen Community and surrounding region. This includes 12 city parks (including 3 dog parks), over 20 miles of trails, 2 softball complexes, Fossum Baseball Field Complex, Kuhnert Arboretum, 2 outdoor ice rinks and 1 indoor ice arena. Wylie Park and Storybook Land is one of the primer parks in the region. It includes 2 campgrounds, Miniature golf, go-karts, picnic facilities and bike and skate rentals. At Storybook Land families enjoy a world of imagination inspired by nursery rhymes and featuring the Land of Oz. Also enjoy a ride on the Train, Carousel, Balloon Ride and Roller Coaster. The Recreation Division provides recreational activities year round for all ages including youth ball leagues, youth & adult tennis lessons and leagues, skating lessons, open gyms, recreational skating, cross country ski lessons, and adult basketball and volleyball leagues. Many special events are offered including Family Fun Weekend, Tennis Tournaments, Storybook Land Festival, Winterfest and Holiday Celebration just to name a few. The YAPAtorium Teen Center provides many activities for teens. Other facilities include: Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center (ARCC) where programming in the visual arts, dance, music, and theatre occur for all ages. Other areas at the ARCC include the Civic Arena, Civic Theatre, and the ARCC Gallery. The Aberdeen Aquatic Center provides entertainment for the whole family with the lap pool, diving boards, leisure pool with multilevel play structure, 3 waterslides, and the Lazy River. Other activities include swimming lessons, water walking and adult water exercise. Lee Park Golf Course is an 18 hole public course which provides lessons and leagues. Aberdeen Senior Center provides many programs and activities for people over 50 years of age

NeSoDak - Located on a beautiful Glacial Lake, NeSoDak provides a safe place for youth to build relationships, develop new skills and live in a grace-filled community. NeSoDak specializes in summer youth programs, including 1-2-3 camps (one day, one night) for elementary youth, half-week and week-long camps for middle school through junior high youth, Servant Journey and adventures camps. Klein Ranch - Klein Ranch is a unique camp that offers youth the opportunity to begin to stretch their boundaries, and abilities, as they ride horses on 2,300 acres of Wild West ranch country. Campers can spend a week exploring the prairie on horseback and participating in other activities, such as hiking the mini badlands, having an overnight campout, playing games and more. Through the camp's small group community, youth strengthen their identity and gain depth in their faith. At Klein Ranch, youth also develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and for others as they care for the animals at the camp. Outlaw Ranch - Located amongst granite outcroppings in the southern Black Hills, Outlaw Ranch is open year round, offering summer youth camps, family camp, year round retreats for youth and adults, as well as hosting business gatherings and family reunions. Outlaw Ranch is known across the country for its top notch family camps, bringing youth and families together.

Provides a meeting place for the community as well as meals for senior citizens. The Hill City Senior Citizens organization assists senior citizens in helping themselves and promotes becoming part of the community. Als provides information on topics of health and senior care as needed. Durable medical equipment loan available. Monthly breakfast on the 2nd Sunday of each month served 8:00am - 12:00noon. $8.00 per adult and $5.00 per child aged 5 - 10 years. Children under the age of 4 eat free. Serves a full breakfast for 10 days during the Sturgis Rally.

Recreation Trail: The recreation trail has over 30-miles of uninterrupted paved trail which encircles the city. Parks: Sioux Falls is home to, over 80 parks in its more than 3,400-acre park system. Shelter Reservations: Parks and Recreation will make picnic shelter reservations for your group and post a reservation. Sign in an enclosed sign case at the shelter. Wedding Reservation: The wedding application form and complete wedding policy, which lists wedding reservation times, can be viewed, or printed on the website or call for information. Weddings can be scheduled at the following locations: McKennan Park Sunken Garden, Sherman Park Garden, Terrace Park Japanese Garden and Tuthill Garden. Members of the Pierre Senior Center enjoy friendship through weekly potlucks which include entertainment from musicians and speakers, Tuesday rolls & coffee, pool, bingo, and cards. The building is used by AARP for income tax preparation for seniors and low-income families/individuals. Flu shot clinics are held here. The facility can be rented for events such as receptions, banquets, meetings, family gatherings, etc. Seats up to 150 with 8 per table. Bus trips are offered two - three times per year. Volunteer opportunities - members assist with serving weekly potluck, making rolls for Tuesday coffee, and other activities such as serving special meals and helping with the rummage sale.
