The Humane Society of the Black Hills works to support the community when faced with difficult situations, to meet that need the following hardship programs are available:
Affordable Euthanasia Services: If your pet needs to be put down, affordable euthanasia services are provided, fees range from $20.00 - $50.00
Animal Surrender Services: An open admission shelter which will take any animal regardless of temperament, age, or health. Animals are assessed for adoption. There is a surrender fee of $10.00 - $25.00.
Food Assistance Program: Provides pet food for those who are struggling with the cost of food.
Hardship Boarding: Able to assist with boarding dogs for up to two weeks for community members who are in transition.
