The Vermillion Area Chamber & Development Company (VCDC) functions as a Chamber of Commerce, office of Economic Development, and Visitor/Tourism Bureau for Vermillion and the surrounding area. It operates in direct partnership with several other agencies, including the City of Vermillion, University of South Dakota, and the nonprofit Missouri Valley Growth, to better grow the economic prosperity of the area and create a positive environment in which to do business. Services include business counseling, member marketing, referrals, networking opportunities, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and much more. The VCDC publishes a semi-annual newsletter informing community of business trends, area news, and new chamber members. The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) at NICOA (National Indian Council on Aging) serves elderly, low-income people by building their job skills, work experience, confidence, financial security, and wellbeing. Helps elders find work, develop new skills, new talents, and earn income by participating in a on-the-job training and employment program.
