Due to limited funding, applicants may be placed on a waiting listing until the program can serve them. Due to restricted funding, services are limited, and the services offered east and west river are not identical. Applicants will need to set up an appointment with applicable case management organization to determine what, if any services, the applicant may be eligible for, and the case management organization can provide.

Prescriptions available for people with healthcare conditions. To cut cost dramatically for normally expensive drugs, the company buys the drugs directly from the manufacturer and tacks on a flat 15% fee to cover the cost of business. Therefore, to keep insurance companies from hiking up the prices, insurance is not accepted on the site. The site also has price transparency by showing customers what it cost them to get the drug and what they are charging consumers for it.

First Connection: For those who have recently diagnosed with cancer, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has provided the opportunity to speak with someone who's been through treatment and learned how to manage the same disease. The Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program is a peer-to-peer program that matches newly diagnosed patients and their families with trained volunteers who have been touched firsthand by a blood cancer and shared similar experiences. Online Chats: Live, weekly online chats provide a friendly forum to share experiences and chat with others about anything from the initial phase of diagnosis to treatment and survivorship. Each chat is moderated by an oncology social worker and is password-protected. The online chats are not a replacement for psychotherapy or support groups. Hearing aids are also refurbished to improve the quality of life for those who cannot afford new technology. In Sioux Falls - drop locations for used hearing aids and eyeglasses are available at every Lewis store or the Foundation office. In Rapid City - any of the collection boxes at the three Boyd's Drug locations. In greater South Dakota, we have drop locations for used hearing aids and eyeglasses in dozens of small towns. The Mother Teresa fund is available to individuals or couples experiencing an unplanned pregnancy so that abortion is not needed because of financial reasons. - Mother Teresa helps with expenses that community/county agencies do not provide assistance with such as: - rent - utilities - car payments - etc. - An application is required and documentation of bills, insurance, and other assistance must be included. - This fund is limited.

It is a service that is generally offered once per year at First Lutheran Church. The Dakota Smiles program is designed to assist children (ages 0-21) who do not have access to care and who do not have a dental home (children who have not seen a dentist for two years or live more than 85 miles from a dentist). No child will be turned away for inability to pay for services. Services provided include: diagnostic and preventive procedures, restorative procedures and tooth extractions. The first 2 days are reserved for check-ups. The second half of the week is reserved for any follow-up appointments.

People who qualify receive a card that they need to bring that to the distribution date. Students are also given a brand new pair of shoes.

Program helps patients obtain their medications through medication samples, patient medication assistance through pharmaceutical companies, and some voucher assistance. After hours prescription assistance is also available for established patients.
