Building Better Caregivers: workshop designated for family caregivers of people living with dementia, Alzheimer's, brain injury, other conditions that affect memory, and those who can no longer live at home independently. Topics covered include caregiver stress, dealing with difficult care partner behavior and emotions, finding help, making decisions about treatment, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, planning for future needs, and legal issues related to caregiving. This is a virtual training. Surviving and Thriving Workshop: workshop designed for cancer survivors and caregivers to improve self-management skills. Topics covered include techniques to deal with symptoms of cancer and its treatment such as fatigue, pain, sleeplessness, shortness of breath, stress, and emotional problems such as depression, anger, fear, and frustration. Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshop: workshop designed to improve the self-management skills of people living with ongoing health issues. Conditions like arthritis, mental health conditions, chronic pain, cancer, or diabetes can cause those affected to lose physical conditioning and suffer health problems over many years. This program teaches new strategies that will give participants the confidence, motivation, and skills needed to manage living with a chronic health condition. Chronic Pain Self-Management Workshop: workshop designed to help participants live a healthy life with chronic pain by managing their symptoms. This program teaches new strategies that will give participants the confidence, motivation, and skills needed to manage living with chronic pain. Workshops are highly participative, where mutual support and success build the participants confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. This is a virtual training. Diabetes Self-Management Workshop: Workshop designed for people with prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, a family history of diabetes, and caregivers. Participants will make weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems they encounter in creating and carrying out their self-management programs. Walk with Ease Workshop: a 6-week community-based walking program designed to engage participants to maintain a successful waking program. Workshops include health education, stretching, and group or self-guided walking.
