Animal Control | Humane Society of the Black Hills

Animal Bite Complaints: If someone is bitten by an animal, they should call the Animal Services and Enforcement Office. Found Animals: May be taken to the Human Society of the Black Hills (HSBH) shelter. If you are interested in keeping the found animal, the animal needs to be scanned for a microchip as the animal may have a family that is looking for it. If you are unable to safely catch an animal please contact animal control for assistance. Lost Animals: HSBH received 5 to 30 animals daily, when a stray is placed at the HSBH, the owner has three business days to reclaim the lost pet. If the three days have passed, the pet may be placed for adoption. It is very important for you to visit the HSBH shelter frequently to see if your pet has been found. HSBH checks for microchips, if your animal has a microchip please call to verify that the microchip information is up to date. Report Abuse: If you suspect abuse, neglect, cruelty, or abandonment, please report it immediately.
