Youth Mentoring Program | Brookings County Youth Mentoring Program
Builds and supports consistent and encouraging mentoring relationships that challenge the growth and expand possibilities for both Mentors and Mentees in Brookings County, SD. The nonprofit provides both 1:1 community-based mentoring and small group opportunities for K-12 grade students, following evidence-based best practices in youth mentoring. BCYMP Mentors, staff and program volunteers are also trained in Adverse Childhood Experiences and the Developmental Relationships Framework.

Eligibility
Any Brookings County K-12 grade student may request a BCYMP Mentor. Mentors must be 18 years of age or older and able to volunteer at least 4 hours per month. Ideally, Mentors are committing to 1 year. SDSU students are still encouraged to Mentor! Alternative Mentoring options are available for breaks. Small group/1:1 semester commitments are sometimes available depending on needs of kids. Please call or email with questions if any questions if any interest in being a Mentor.
